The Thermal Storage is a storage building to convert energy of Steam (Super), Steam (High) or Steam (Low), into Heat and store it. It substantially acts as a large buffer of steam and can replace Flywheels in large-scale power generation systems. Unlike other storage, Thermal Storage requires Worker, Maintenance I, and Electricity for working, and has losses at charging Heat.

One Thermal Storage can accept only one type of steam, and you should assign it in the same way as Fluid Storage. For charging Heat, assigned steam should be supplied to the input port of the storage and discharged Water should be removed. The charged Heat can be used for boiling Water back to the assigned steam. This charging/discharging process has a 20% energy loss, but there are no continuous losses while the Heat is stored while the storage is operational.

Note that Thermal storage losses Heat while the storage does not work (paused, no worker, and so on). This speed is 4% of the capacity per 60 Clock.png .
