Description

This template should be used to tag images that are in the public domain world-wide. The reason or reasons why the image is in the public domain should be stated. This template puts images tagged with it into Category:Public domain files.

Syntax

Type {{PD}} on the image information page.

Will produce a generic public domain reason.

This work has been released into the public domain by the copyright holder, its copyright has expired, or it is ineligible for copyright. This applies worldwide.

{{PD|User:Kirkburn‎}}

Will produce a public domain release by local user Kirkburn

This work has been released into the public domain by Kirkburn. This applies worldwide.

{{PD|[www.example.com Kirkburn]}}

Will produce a public domain release by an individual using the URL template to link to an external site

This work has been released into the public domain by [www.example.com Kirkburn]]. This applies worldwide.
